Expensive teapots of the world

Tea drinking is a tradition. During preparation, tea leaves give off all their aroma and nutrients. That is why it is important in which teapot the tea leaves are brewed. Collectors who know a lot about teapots are ready to pay a lot of money for exclusive items.

So in April 2009, at the Hansons auction, for a teapot decorated with protest inscriptions “No excise duty”, he got a price of $ 130,000. Created by an English ceramic artist in 1765, it stands 12 cm high and was bought by an American collector.

No less interesting specimens were presented at the Christie's auction. A pair of teapots from the "pink family" was bought by a collector from Hong Kong for an impressive amount - 1.26 million dollars. Created during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, they are painted with blue-green landscapes.

One of the most notable teapots of the 20th century was the creation of a master named Gu Jing Zhou. The adorable teapot sold for $2 million during a 2010 China Guardian auction. Two more works of art by Gu Jing Zhou sold out in November 2013 during the Bonhams auction. Then, for each of the two teapots, it was possible to gain 1.32 million dollars.
