Mulled wine with coffee and cognac

Jun 10 2012

Mulled wine with coffee and cognac is a wonderful warming drink. This is a very tasty and unusual drink based on freshly brewed espresso.
Someone prepares mulled wine with instant coffee, someone uses instant coffee, but I prefer mulled wine with freshly brewed coffee.

Of course, so that an unpleasant surprise does not await you, it is better to take good alcoholic components of trusted brands.

Ingredients for 6 servings Dry red wine - 750 ml Espresso - 1.5 cups Cognac - 3/4 cup Sugar - 100 g Brew espresso coffee according to your favorite method. Mix dry red wine, coffee (espresso or just strong without thick), cognac, sugar and put on moderate heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring the mixture to a boil and immediately remove from heat. The main thing is that the mixture does not boil for a long time, but only warms up well. As soon as signs of boiling appear, turn it off.

Serve hot in mugs or fireproof glasses with a slice of lemon. You can add another teaspoon of honey - it turns out a pleasant sweetness.

To make the drink beautiful, it is better to strain it through a tea strainer before serving.
