The Tocklai Tea Research Association is the oldest and largest research station in India. Its technically savvy specialists have developed a mobile application for devices supporting Android and IOS platforms, which is called "TRA Tocklai". With its help, tea producers and lovers will be able to ask questions online and get quick answers to them.
The mobile tea app, which is the first of its kind in the world, was launched on October 4 at the 49th Annual General Meeting of the Indian Tea Association in Kolkata. The app was officially launched by the Chairman of the Tea Council of India, Joydeep Phukan, who reiterated that the new release will help people involved in the tea industry get the information they need about Indian tea from their mobile devices.
Mr. Phukang also pointed out that the Tocklai Tea Encyclopaedia is regarded as the bible of all research and development carried out in the past 100 years, and has more than 1,000 pages. Now all of its content has been uploaded to the new app and is available for public use.
