CARAMEL PIE RECIPE
Grocery list:
- wheat flour - about 6 tbsp.,
- milk - 2 tbsp.,
- yeast (dry) - 2 tsp,
- granulated sugar - 8 tbsp.,
- salt - 1 tsp,
- caramel (with filling) - 200g.,
- butter (melted) - 140-150g.,
- eggs - 2 pcs.,
- yolk - 1 pc.,
- vanilla sugar - 2 sachets.
Cooking process
1. Sugar, dry yeast, vanilla sugar and 6 tablespoons of flour mix in a large deep bowl. 2. Then add warm milk to the resulting mixture and stir the ingredients. 3. Next, cover the bowl and put it for an hour where it is warm so that the dough rises. 4. Then add melted butter, salt to the dough and beat in the eggs. 5. After that, gradually introduce 4 cups of sifted flour. 6. Having kneaded a soft elastic dough, let it “grow”, that is, put it in a warm place so that it can increase in volume. 7. Roll up the risen dough in the form of a roller and cut into small pieces of the same size. 8. From each piece, make a cake and put a caramel candy with filling in its center. 9. Next, form round pies and put them on a baking sheet covered with parchment (you need to lay them with a seam down), at some distance from each other. 10. Leave the products for twenty minutes to proof. 11. Whisk the yolk together with a few drops of water and vegetable oil. Brush this mixture lightly on top of the caramel patties.
12. Bake products in a preheated oven at t = 180 degrees for forty to fifty minutes.
NOTE
If desired, you can sprinkle pies on top with coconut or flour sprinkles, but then they will already look more like buns. Flour dressing is prepared simply: 4st. l. wheat flour is rubbed with fingers to a crumbly state with 2 tbsp. l. softened butter and 2 tbsp. l. granulated sugar. Before sprinkling products, it must be kept in the refrigerator.
