From March 26 to March 28 this year, the Russian Barista Marathon 2014 championship will take place on the territory of the Russian design factory Flacon. The event is a qualifying round of the international World Barista Championship.
The participants of the championship will be the best coffee specialists and experienced baristas who have dedicated their careers to the development of coffee culture in Russia. According to the rules, the participants must prepare four cappuccinos for the judges, as well as 4 espressos and four signature drinks. The author's drink is coffee prepared according to the participant's personal recipe.
The results will be judged by certified specialists from Russia and other countries. In total, 4 championships will be held in the following areas: "Latte Art" - a coffee drawing competition, "Brewers Cup" - competitions in alternative methods of coffee brewing, "Cup Tasters" - a competition for the ability to subtly distinguish the flavors of coffee and "Coffee in Good Spirits" — competitions in the preparation of cocktails based on coffee with alcohol.
In addition to the championship, many master classes will be held as part of the event, coffee products from leading companies in the industry and tastings will be presented. The expected number of participants is 2,000 people, including journalists and an audience on the Internet.
