Tea marking - OP, FOP, FTGFOP, BP and othersNot everyone knows, but there is an international classification according to which each package of tea is labeled. As a rule, letters representing abbreviations are indicated on the back of the box.

High-grade teas, created from whole rolled tea leaves, have the abbreviation - "OP" (Orange Pekoe) and are distinguished by the absence of tea buds, tips, in the composition. Otherwise, the marking becomes "OP with added tips".

The letters "FOP" stands for "Flowery OP", and stands for top leaf tea with tipsomy. "GFOP" and "TGFOP" is used for "FOP" with a lot of tips.

The long label "FTGFOP" stands for "Finest TGFOP" and is used to label a tea created only from the kidneys, which is considered the most useful among all its "brothers".

Whole rough leaf tea is labeled with a "P" while "BP" ("Broken Pekoe") is used for broken leaf tea. For tea products created from cut and broken leaf plates, the same classification is used as for whole ones: BOP, BGFOP, BFOP, etc.

Characterized by strength and less aromatic, granular tea is labeled as "CTC" - "Cut, tear & curl".

There are two different labels for tea bags. The first, "F" ("Fannings") indicates that the product is made from tea seed, and "D" ("Dust") - from tea dust.
