Rice casserole with apples and cinnamon

Rice casseroles are tasty, healthy and easy to prepare. They can be served, for example, as main dishes, supplemented with mushrooms and herbs, or you can turn them into a delicious and fragrant apple-cinnamon dessert.

For rice casserole with apples, you need to take 180 gr. rice, preferably round, 400 ml. fat milk, a little vanillin, 3 tbsp. sugar, cinnamon, 2 large apples of your favorite variety, 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice, 2 tbsp. sour cream, 3 tbsp. l. any liquid oil, a little jam for decoration, salt.

The process of preparing the casserole takes about an hour and a half, but believe me, the result is worth it. If you have a slow cooker at home, you can find recipes suitable for it. Otherwise, follow the recommendations below.

So, first you need to boil the milk and pour thoroughly washed rice into it. Salt, add sugar and vanilla. Do not forget to stir our mixture, otherwise it will stick to the walls of the pan very quickly. When the rice is ready, remove the pan from the heat and proceed to the preparation of "cinnamon apples".

We eat apples well, cut off the peel, remove the core, cut into halves. Then moisten them with lemon juice, gently sprinkle with cinnamon on all sides. We heat the oven to 180 degrees.

The resulting rice is transferred to a baking dish, greased with oil. After that, we level our mixture and cover it with a thin layer of sour cream. We take apples and press them into the rice so that they do not touch the bottom of the dish, add a piece of butter to each core. We put the form in the oven. Once the apples are reddened and soft, you can pull them out. This usually takes 60-70 minutes.

This dish is best served hot, decorating the core of each apple with jam.
